55+ Communities
The Coachella Valley has several 55+ communities located in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, La Quinta and Indio. Each has their own unique attraction providing 55+ buyers with ample selection for a 55+ community.
Keep in mind, 55+ communities have strict rules regarding age of owners and each one should be researched before purchasing a home in one of these communities. For more info, please contact me as I have sold in most of these communities and I am very aware of their rules.
Bermuda Dunes
Bermuda Dunes in an unincorporated part of Riverside County. The name originated from the Bermuda Dunes country club, a golf course community first opened in 1962 and the former site of the Bob Hope Chrysler Golf Classic.
Outside the gates of Bermuda Dunes Country club are large estate properties for horses and other interests. The Bermuda Dunes Airport is located in Bermuda Dunes and small planes and jets routinely depart and land there.
Indian Wells
Indian Wells lies in between Palm Desert and the resort town of La Quinta. It is one of the smaller towns in the Coachella Valley. Residents of Indian Wells are given discounts on golf, dining and shopping. Indian Wells has a public course. The city hosts the sixth-largest tennis tournament in the world, the Indian Wells Masters tennis tournament—presently known as the BNP Paribas Open. The Indian Wells Masters is one of nine ATP World Tour Masters 1000 high-level events operated by the Association of Tennis Professionals, and one of the four WTA Premier Mandatory tournaments of the Women’s Tennis Association. It is held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, which contains the second-largest tennis-specific stadium in the world.
LA QUINTA
La Quinta is located between Indian Wells and Indio. La Quinta is referred to as the “Gem of the Desert”. La Quinta boasts several golf courses and The Robb Report credits La Quinta as the leading golf destination in the US. La Quinta Hosts an annual charity golf tournament.
La Quinta has a small airport and borders much of the agriculture in the Coachella Valley. It is very convenient for those looking to bring their private jet.
PALM DESERT
Palm Desert is the geographic center of the Coachella Valley. Palm Desert’s amenities include El Paseo Drive with exquisite shopping and eating, the College of the Desert Street Fair, the McCallum Theater and Westfield Mall. Palm Desert has public golf at Desert Willow Golf Course, with discounts to homeowners.
Palm Springs
Palm Springs is a desert resort city within the Coachella Valley. Biking, golf, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, and tennis is available in Palm Springs and the nearby desert and mountain areas. The city is also known for its mid-century modern architecture, design elements, and arts and cultural scene along with it’s rich history. Palm Springs hosts the annual Palm Springs Film Festival along with several parades and other festivities.
RANCHO MIRAGE
Rancho Mirage is known for its exclusive gated communities, beautiful golf courses, and superb tennis facilities. Rancho Mirage has numerous amenities including the Community Park with an outdoor amphitheater, an Annual Art Affaire, Sunnylands, Eisenhower Medical Center, The Betty Ford Center and the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, The Tolerance Education Center, the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert and the Braille Institute.
